I think they are great!!! Some of the 125's you can get now are brilliant, there are a few round here that I've mistaken for harleys et al as they've gone past at lightning speed and it's only when you get up close and have a good look at them you realise they are 125's especially when there are no L plates on 'em!
I've seen 125 chops and all sorts! How pleased would I have been with one of those at 18 or whatever?

By 'eck, when I were a lad, I had to make do with a matt black (black?????) CG125, with a knobbly rear tyre and massive pullbacks!! Brilliant at offroading however - I remember racing this other kid round a rally field on our CG's (his was the later brazillian model) three weeks after breaking my collar bone (in the process of writing off my brand new H100sII - I knicked the CG off me dad just so I could go to a rally! Kept it for about six months after that!) :D

I've had it 6 yrs now, it's slowly getting worse!! I've blown it up twice, first due to lack of oil, then my first attempt at tuning!! Got it sorted now though, not sure what it's kicking out, but we had it up to 110mph through Hatfield Tunnel!! Hopefully once I replace the clutch basket, I'll get a bit more out of it :D
Then, might fit homemade nitrous kit to it

16-07-2004, 09:30 PM
listy time, ive done this before and probally alienated people, so always worth repeating the exercise :p
Sp370, but with placcy guards, no panelwork and total loss eleccys, shiney pipe etc etc, dog slow and reliable.
kawa gt750 (the chairs in the field abandoned so its solo now)
A very hairy bottomed gs750 streetfighter (when motor is not in pieces(not often))
a stock tidy gpz turbo (well, mostly stock... you cant SEE any of the mods..)
a tube framed streetfighter gpz turbo
a bimota yb8e 1000
Just could never bring myself to sell these over the years because mostly I did all the work myself and got a bit attached although theres been other bikes in between like y'do, and I doubt all that lot put together would cost much different to a used harley anyway.
The gt's days are numbered tho and its the most std of the lot, but ive been saying that all summer. And I recently killed my ft500's frame so until I find a suitable donor thats out the list too.
Im one of them gits that half of you wouldnt wave to, unless i was riding one of my other bikes that day. Though I do wear jeans and a black leather as riding gear. Although it seems now I must purchase floppy ears for my kraft to achieve true annoyance :p

Yamaha XJ700 X Maxim X. it's blue and running like a rubbish thing. I replaced the coils before, but had to "persuade" them to fit, by drilling through the lamina through the middle, and I think one of them's buggered up again (either that or lack of compression, so I'm praying it's the coil) But when it's running right I'm sorting out the rear indicators (too big) and various cosmetics. I'll post a pic when I downsize it. Dan

Yes, apart from when im needing to control the bike of course or someone catches me really unaware but thats the same for everyone isnt it and what I put 80% of people not waving back to. As for this collective "us" business , and am I a "us" when Im riding the gs/gt? You see where im going with this... Ive had chops, ratbikes, sidecar outfit, pink superdreams etc so I dont do snobbery but I do find it coming the other direction quite often. I took the bimota to the bulldog one year and heard a LOT of snide "cheque book wanabee/biker" comments, by people who looked like they'd come out of a "biker" mould. If anyone of them had bothered to ask they'd have found I just rode it 200 miles (and it isnt a comfortable distance bike) and was clocking 800 miles a week using it to go to work and stuff at the time and had been riding since i was 15.
Anyway wrong place for this rant...

But you soon get used to it and it was'nt long til i started flinging around like the bandit i had previously.

Unfortunately a dire lack of funds, made worse by a fortnight in Thailand, means the trike is not on the road yet. Most of my cash went into a business venture that lets me do 2 full time jobs and keep me head above water. Hope to have it running and mot'd ready for Faro next year.
