Nirvana where excellent and changed a lot of todays music
Oasis are Ok, but at the end of the day compared to most of the drivel out there they get a lot more praise than they deserve

gotta agree with the majority here, the beatles and u2 have got to be amongst the most overrated bands, the first two oasis albums were pretty good, they were just a working class rock 'n roll band. after that they just kept to the same formula and went stale. the darkness were amusing for about five minutes and now they can't get the dreaded second album finished and one of the band has quit, coldplay heard one track you've heard them all. just been listenin' to the new audioslave cd and it's excellent as is the new nine inch nails album (they rool eh rogue monkey? :D ) to summarise (wow, where did that come from?) when i'm sitting in the connie in the very small hours toking away and enjoying some jesus juice the floyd are never far away.

Best thing Kurt Cobain did was ventilate his skull so Dave Grohl could get Foo Fighters together! There's controversial,eh? As for Oasis.....take one part Beatles,one part Stones,a bit of Kinks,a humungous amount of scally obnoxiousness,stir well,and serve at a slow tempo. Every song of thiers drags like a b*stard.
Coldplay-tedious preaching whingers.

Closely followed by Elvis sacralidge - his early stuff was just ecellent
u2 - funny thing - never get asked to play U2 by the Irish.....
I have a varied and eclectic taste in music, but I can't stand Oasis. The Darkness are a pile of shoite and should be buried at a toxic waste dump so we don't have to put up with it any more.
I do like most other bands though, but some I can ignore.

axl rose wasn't the best singer in the world, but Appetite for destruction was one of the best albums ever! done a lot for a very stale music scene at the time and many guitar players will list it among their influences, all went downhill after that though as their first album was by far their best album.
Having seen Velvet Revolver the other night clearly the rest of the band were very talented.

U2, Nirvana (they never changed bugger all and they sure as **** didnt start anything, they just made it commercially), Def leppard (hate em so much, wannabe yank ****e), eminem (is he a band or a solo artist. I use the word artis very loosely), 99% of bands in the last 5 years, nah 10 years. So many over rated bands really.
I suppose at the end of the day this mostly comes down to personal tastes. I despise Hip Hop and the likes and i dont really like any band that thinks it started a cult, like say the Sex Pistols for example (far better punk bands were about like Slaughter & the Dogs, Cock Sparrer, Skrewdriver etc. Yes, Skrewdriver were originally a punk band).

i think oasis are crap and don't particuly rate nirvana....more of a megadeth/slayer/metallica ect man
