:( all linkage and suspension etc on trike now, i thought i would try it down the lane before i get to carried away with mudguards seats lighting etc, everything is great exept for bo**ock rattling bar shake witch starts at about 15 mph but then eases off, my question is how effective are side car tyres at removing this?? and other than steering dampers are their any other methods ?????

Im affraid to say it a lot more than wheel balancing its more a severe wobble have messed around with front tyre pressures etc the front was fine when she was a bike

Flat profile sidecar type tyre will make a big difference.

Volkswagon Steering Damper will help further.

The square tyre will help.

But watch out for multiples of 15mph (i.e. 30, 45, 60 etc....)

I'm a bit adverse to steering dampers as a rule. All that wobbling is transmitted to the mounting brackets of the damper instead of your hands (simplistic explanation OK?) which can result in the brackets failing.

Bearing in mind the tendency for steering wobbles to re-occur with added vigour at multiples of the onset speed, anyone want to guess what happens if the damper bracket gives in to metal fatigue whilst you're travelling at 90?

I've heard the words "He hit it so hard it broke the steering damper brackets.." in connection with weird high speed accidents rather too often for my liking.
