Being totally honest it's a bit amateurish! I wouldn't be happy if you'd done it for me!!
No offence like, keep practicing.
Cheers'en. :D

Fook'inell, it's his first one, I wouldn't expect the first of anything to be any good otherwise we'd all be doing it (which is the thing that p1sses me off about Bill Gates, he made everyone think they are a graphic designer, just because they got w*ndoze & Micros**t office – cast a lot of Designers on the scrap heap  - I spend most of my working day picking up the pieces when their ads for the paper go to sh1t, and they expect the paper to pay for their feck-ups!)
Keep practising though! Get some french curves and some masking film from an art shop for those flames and you'll be onto a winner!

Yes i agree, but he asked what we thought and i told him.
If you look at what else i've put i also said keep practicing!
Paintwork is an art, it's not easy, and like i said before keep practicing and it'll come right.
As for saying it as it is...it's something i do very well, and if you don't like it tough sh!t!!
Cheers'en. :D

Glad to hear it! It would be a poor do now wouldn't it if we all felt we couldn't say what we wanted to because of some PC sh1t!
So how long you been doing this painting lark then?

well done hacky for showing your first attempt
athing no doubt most would keep quiwtw about
if i learnt to airbrush ( and i want to0 would be pleased with that
goood idea practicing on old helmets
look forward to the new improved ready for world hacky :)
i painted the tank of my old gn250 (using aerosol purple to bluye fade)
i was on the top floor of a block of flats in the stairwell
needless to say the tank looked rubbish and the stairwell was covered in paint
and have never been brave enough to try it since.

Same here - 1987 - started using a Macintosh II to do Graphic Design stuff! :D (sh1t I feel old at this point - most of the folk I work with weren't even five then!). This was the beastie here (http://www.apple-history.com/frames/II.html) that started the Mac bug off.

finish looks good for a first attempt, can't see any runs.colour and designs a matter of personal taste (should be purple/tribal.... :D ) I'm sure every one you do will improve and as long as you enjoy doing it it will be a cool hobby.

The only tip I could offer is to make sure you use the correct paints as some can weaken the helmet structure......
Doesn't look that bad for a first attempt and as it's an old lid, you can rub it down and do it again (for practice and to save money).
A few weeks ago i tried my hand a watercolour painting and showed it to my French friend who does wonderful oil paintings. She says that it was a good attempt and she couldn't do it at all...... Everybodies got to be good at something and practice makes .... well you know!!!!
