I got this email this mornin' from a mate over in Holland about a mate of ours Andy Paterson (used to ride with the Buzzards MCC) around the Inverness area.

All,

Here's an update on Andy Paterson in Scotland, in hospital after the hit and run accident on Sunday afternoon when a car drove into the back of him on his bike and left him for dead:
Andy now has several broken ribs, a punctured lung, a broken spine and possible nervous system damage.
This news couldn't be much worse for him as the consequences could be absolutely disastrous. Seems there's very little we can do just now, his condition seems to be stable.
Let's hope the police will find whoever did this, probably a drunk driver.

Hope it turns out better for him than it sounds.

October 2003 I and another 'Round britain Rally' entrant both had accidents in Wales. Mine was a minor one where I dropped the bike while turning it round, and I ended up with a broken leg. His was a major one where he ended up in intensive care for 2 weeks with broken ribs, punctured lung and various other injuries.

He's now back to full health and i'm still waiting for the leg to heal......

So it can happen. Healing thoughts on their way.

Fully agree with Bunbag on this one, perhaps the police should find this cretin and hand him over for some 'Biker' justice. Bad enough when some myopic f*ckwit hurts one of ours, but when they feck off and leave them for dead, they give up all rights to justice as far as I'm concered.
