Hi, I am trying to find out a hebrew translation of my daughters name, to get it tattooed across the top of my back, one place reckoned they had it, but I later prooved them very wrong when I happened to see it on the web, it actually said the equivalent of friday LOL
I know that theres many different versions of the language, but just in case theres any jewish in here I thought I would ask
shes named abigail, also I beleive in hebrew spelt abigael, and avigayil,
thanks

HMM might have been a bit too easy, going to print it out and try to find a jewish person and ask them what it says :)
Im not doing as a guy I heard of did, got a chinese tattoo that actually read more like a menu than the mark of respect to his mother that he wanted. :(
Don't let her go sun bathing in Turkey or any Arabic country then.

Hi Tony.
I have spoken to the Jewish contingent here at my office and they have said that the Hebrew translation you have posted in correct.
The hebrew is phenetic - it says Avigayil (as per the English) and is hebrew for the English name Abigail.
Hope this helps.

WAHEEY cheers for that, much appreciated
I did have some more luck with other websites, and if anyone else is looking for hebrew version of names, then theres a site called hebrewbabynames that is well cool, they also show watercolour versions of the name, sort of arty farty, actually now considering using one of them and turning that into a tattoo
I found a site with variuos hebrew alphabets, but got a bit worried when the version above didnt spell what I thought, but my ignorance on two counts,
1. they dont translatte letter for letter
2. biggest DOH for forgetting that they read right to left LOL
