Ay its lovely up here lassie!! eh up they've even got me talking like them now? I'm originally from that little hamlet called Halifax in West Yorkshire but we became Asylum seekers up here after the Bradford riots (i lived near Bradford after HX) and guess what they haven't had any riots up here since William wallace was a lad, so its lovely and peaceful.
Our nearest neighbours are deer etc, it took a bit of getting used to being a city boy but i have always felt more at home out in the country (spent years touring Dales/Lakes/Northumberland and Scotland by bike)
If any of you are thinking of venturing North of the border then DO IT you won't regret it one bit, the west coast roads are out of this world and if you get the chance go to John o groats (follow the west coast road up past Ullapool etc) its a long run but you will certainly remember it for the rest of your days!
as you may guess i really feel settled up here, only thing we are short of is Tradesmen ie Plumbers/Joiners/Electricians/ Mechanics we really need more up here so anyone thinking of relocating this is the place (and house prices are still pretty good) also there's no Terrorists :)

I have to agree scotland's great, I came here at the age of 6 and now everytime I travel south get confused as to how bloody flat and boring the south is - give me hills, pissing rain and midgees with jackhammers any day - the women also have low expectations and standars up here which I find invaluable.
p.s. Are, you going to crail per chance claymore?

I'd love to go but at the moment i can do very little due to health probs, hence reason for selling trike.
Its a good do up there and although you do get a few downpours now and again it doesn't dampen anyones spirits :D
I hate it if i have to go down south, its the traffic and when you get to Keighley the fumes just hit you? no more fresh air and wildlife!
I find everyone's a lot more laid back up here? it would be great if we had a few more bikers though (where i live there's bugger all, about 10 bikes in 40 mile radius!) Insurance is dead cheap too (mine went down to a quarter of what i paid in Yorkshire)
Have fun if you get to Crail and hopefully we'll get there next time
Cheers!!!!!!

You got it in one Mutant Stewart :D
They can't help it if all the kids have the same surname at school, and call their sisters mum!
We live just south of there (where they filmed The Wicker Man cult horror movie from the 70's) and they are just like The Hills Have Eye's round here, you can almost hear them dueling banjo's on a quiet evening.
It looks like the Trikes sold (fingers crossed)
Your right about nice riding country, and there's no police too (they only come down here once a fortnight for an hour in a mobile police station other than that they stay well clear, not that we'd use illegal exhausts or anything officer ;)
All we are short of is a good bike rally!

coming from newcastle i have to say i've spent many a day in the lakes/scotland/northumberland. I moved south last year for work, and I'm staying a while cos there's work here for my kids too. Sometimes I wish they'd sort things out a bit and create more jobs in newcastle and scotland, but on the other hand, it would ruin the area if lots of people and companies moved there, let's just keep it secret for when we all finally give up on the rat race lol

mind you, the weather is 100 times better here lol
