View Full Version : jinxed?
does anyone believe in jinxes?
for example
do you believe a house can be jinxed?
or is it just a mind thing?
or co-incidence
or damn bad luck?

I don't think there's any such thing as a jinx - just a combination of the the other things you mentioned.
Sometimes you only remember the bad stuff that happens because there's no reason for the good things to stick in your brain because they're good and going your way...
Make sense? Hope so.. :)
hmmmm, could be, but sometimes the same things happen so you wonder....
one house I lived in...anything made of glass got broken (no I wasn't throwing stuff...honest)
glasses, oven dishes, mirrors, even the window
have lived in 5 houses since then and never had a problem with glass since
I also lived in a house where the previous occupant was a pervert, nothing good ever happened to me while I lived there.....got divorced, was hounded by a gang of yoofs, my cat was killed, my babysitter had her fingers chopped off etc etc
next 3 houses were fine
the latest one it seems anything to do with utilities and builders goes wrong
I used to think houses could store the memories and 'vibrations' from past owners, but now I'm not a big believer in spooky stuff but this new house has got me wondering......

I am definately jinxed when it comes to transport
in what way?
some folk still believe green cars are unlucky
I think that came about cos some report said most accidents involved green cars
but maybe it was just because more people drove green cars
I suspect since then statistics will show red cars were involved in most accidents, and now it's silver cars, cos boy - every other car seems to be silver
I believe.......I am very unlucky when it comes to 'Getting Caught'.

Being a bit nautical - I was always led to believe that the "green is bad luck" fable comes from old sea wrecks.
The wrecks were often marked by a green barge moored alongside to warn when navigating the channels.
but... it may be bollix.

I used to think that houses could store positive and negative energies from past events because I used to live in a house when I was a kid that I never felt comfortable in and couldn't sleep well there etc. Some strange stuff happened there.
But now when I look back on it, I think maybe my state of mind was the problem and not the house necessarily..
As I said, it's easy to remember the negative stuff because it annoys and inconveniences us but the happy, good things can easily be over looked as the bad things seem so much nastier and bigger.
Can you honestly say that some happy and positive things didn't happen in those houses too?

Anyways' yes!
I belive in certain things being jinxed.
Had a fukpig Fatboy , a Jeep ( Green!) and a couple of houses that gave that impression.
and as for houses - when I move , I tend to leave the old mirrors in the house and buy new ones for the next house. I know , I'm a superstitious fool , but I'd rather not tempt fate!

our last car certainly had some kind of hex on it. my wife was attacked in it, not long after a kid pedalled into the side of it causing nearly four hundred quids worth of damage, driving home from work she was ahem, rear ended in it by a gang of 'afro carribean' fellows. she was about to get out of the car when she noticed they had encicled the motor so she sped away, that repair was done on the insurance causing us to lose our ncb. it was just one thing after another and even though we really liked that car it had to go. since then we have had no probs.......touch wood.

Houses are usually jinxed because they have been accursed by witches....like us :D No seriously some really are, my mate Hugo lived in a jinxed house - never felt comfortable in it, couldn't stay there alone and said there was a plague of big spiders there. He said he always felt like a massive burden had been lifted everytime he left it.
Do you think your place is jinxed Doro?
I was brought up by a spiritualist who now works in blackpool doing tarot (no seriously) so I have been surrounded by this stuff most of my life
when I was 12 they thought my sister had cancer so the night before her test results I gave her an 'amulet' I'd made and the results were good
the night my sister's father-in-law died I had a vivid picture of his wife turning away from his bed and looking straight at me
lots of things happen which we can't explain
not to say it's spirits or anything
but I believe there's something there
mainly to do with the power of our minds
and maybe other people with powerful minds leave something of themselves wherever they go
I once read something which said that at the moment of death, or anything deeply emotional (violence/fear/joy/illness etc) our minds automatically think of the person closest to us, and that person 'tunes' in
hence the way you know something has happened to a loved one before you're told.
and if someone suffers a violent death they leave an 'atmosphere' which is why some places are said to be haunted
since our brains communicate with the rest of us via electricity, surely stuff like magnetism and static electricity must be involved
and we know electricity and magnets have an invisible force field associated with them
one day no doubt none of this will be mysterious anymore......

Oi Doro,
buried away in all that was the phrase:-
"the babysitter had her fingers chopped off..."
what on earth happened there !!!!!!!!
I'm amazed amongst all the speculative stuff that this was completely overlooked by everyone.
believe it or not a lump of concrete fell on her hand from the top of a high wall, she had her hands outstretched on the ground and it fell edgeways and she lost 3 fingers
I'll never forget it....the lass was only 16 at the time :(

i do and dont believe in some things, much the same as most of you,
some of you have a religion and some of you dont.
what im getting at is that from all our different walks of life we all have one thing in common" we all get bad feelings" of sorts,.
for some it may be a dream which we forget when we awake ,but remember when the vision happens, sometimes referred to as deja vue
for others it may be a gut wrenching moment but is dismissed as something else(ignorance is bliss)
all i can really add to this topic without going in personally is that if you get any of these then listen to your inner self ..your always right..even if it seems wrong at the time....
