truly wonderful folk
re my gasket
rang several different folks, armed with the engine number, none were any good, one asked for the frame number (heck, it's an engine part, what's wrong with the engine number??)
ok so I couldn't remember the exact model or year of issue or owt
but, I finally rang Z Power (well, it's a Z, of course my list is alphabetical.. )
not only did the guy know exactly what model, just from my feeble attempts at describing it, and saying it was 1990 ish, he also knew which model the gasket I was sent was off (newcastle kwak place sent me the wrong gasket)
apparently that is off the water cooled version
then, after a very long phonecall (guy loves my name and my accent) I finally ended up with a full top head gasket set, he even knew about the timing thingy on the back that I removed (tho apparently I didn't need to remove it, just loosen it enough to move the chain d'oh)
it took him about 8 attempts to spell my name
but I guess it is a bit difficult when you got a geordie talking to a lancs fella
he asked me all about my job and everything, very pleasant chap
he denied knowing Grav tho
mind doesn't it make so much difference when the people who you're talking to know what they're talking about, fills yer with confidence, it surely does!
mind you, he could talk for England.......... :)
