Friday night at the Celtics. Having fun, talking b*llocks with my mates, a few Newkies down my neck. Suddenly my world turned literally upside down. I was on my back amongst the empties! I'd stepped on to a discarded bottle, slipped off it and twisted my ankle almost right round. Had to have help back to the tent, was left alone for a moment and fell on top of my mate's tent, sorry Steve. Had to be helped out of the tent in the morning and escorted to the loo. Terrible state to be in. Luckily one of my mates had some strong painkillers and St John's ambulance strapped it up so I was able to get around the show. Took my chair into the shed for the evenong entertainment, I felt so old sitting while Saxon played. I managed to meet up with some of you but to those I missed, hello.
I know drinking can be dangerous but this is ridiculous! :(
YOU LIAR, that is definitely a love-bite from JohnnyFP :D

The pain and swelling were getting worse so I decided to go to the minor injuries unit instead of casualty cos it wasn't anything serious. After a wait of ooh, two minutes!!!! I was called in to see a nurse practitioner. She sent me for an x ray. Yup its broken! A transverse fracture of the fibula. She was so surprised I'd walked about on it all weekend that she brought in the head of department to have a look at me!
Bollocks!
Thats me in plaster for the next six weeks. At least it's decided whether I'll go to the Speedfreaks Ball or the World's End MCC rally, neither.
Mind you every cloud and all that, I'm not self employed any more so I'm going to be able to pay the mortgage.
I do find it slightly ironic that I've earned my living riding for the last 23 years and the worse injury I've suffered was caused by me falling over! :( :(

Sorry to hear that m8,but a break sometimes heals quicker and better than a bad sprain. My last sprained ankle took more than three months and the help of an elastic support from a rugby shop to heal and still sometimes gives me trouble.

Fracture clinic today. Out of plaster and into an 'air splint' looks like some dodgy apliance from TB's special wardrobe. Still signed off work for another three weeks though.
Can't ride my bike till then, This will be the longest time without riding since I got my first bike in 1980. I'm getting really cranky. My kids are staying right out of my way. Even the dogs are staying in thier baskets quietly.
Oh hold on, now I can wear a boot, I can go out on my trike. Must fix the indicators and get the MOT. ;) :D
