Those of you who were on Bikersweb may remember on April 1st (the new forum hadn't quite come about), I had a bit of an altercation with a white van man on my way to Brighton.
It left me battered and bruised and the bike was left with bent forks, smashed headlight, dented tank - Gypsy and Doro saw it when they came over recently - etc. It is still sitting there to this day looking all sad and forlorn as no-one's been round to look at it.
As I've only got TPFT, it's counted as an uninsured loss and therefore no longer dealt with by my insurers directly. Originally, it was farmed out to this firm of solicitors (who shall remain nameless for obvious reasons) and they were useless! Ten weeks later and I still haven' got anything sorted out - they sent the letter of claim out after six weeks, it would have been longer if I had not complained. They even got the details of the letter completely wrong. It was a company vehicle - I informed them of this before they sent the letter - and they still addressed the claim to the driver!!!!! It then took them four weeks to tell me they'd done this so as you can imagine I was livid!
Anyway, I explained the sorry state of affairs to the claims dept bloke at the insurers and he said he'd put the complaint to the head of dept.
This morning I had a result! I had a call from a new solicitor who has been assigned to the case - someone who looks like he can sort it out!!!
That really made my day! :o
