There is very little news on this but it looks like the airfield is going to be built on. Full Planning Permission has recently been given to build on the airfield.

Local news:

The housing developer:

The master plan and there aint any airfield left.

Housing development design and planning/ building regulations approval is one of the things I did for a living. So I know my stuff on this.
It seems like Shakespeare raceway is finished.

Shame. That airfield saved my Dad's bacon once. He used to fly Halifax bombers during WW2. Landed there on three engines, well shot up with flak, by all accounts.

not good remember going there when i was eighteen on a bike rally !!! dont even remeber if it was called the bulldog bash 32 years odd ago !!!! every weekend we were away on the bikes at that age at some rally :) bloomin ex binned all my old rally badges from those days and i had a load of them :(
havent been to the bulldog bash in a very longtime but was one of the very few on my list of safe rallies that i could take new girlfriend too where i know we'd be well looked after and have fun, looks like we will have to find some similar bike rallies to go this year but im not clued up these days
least we going to the tt races again this year and it was horrid riding in all the gear through traffic last year and reminds me i need to fit an exaust to my zx9r after it blew badly last year !!!!!!! well half fell off lol and need it for tt

I've been a regular at he Sunday car boot and market for decades.
Been to see drag racing down there a few times.

The ongoing loss of amenities and places to go and engage in activities to get replaced by acres of tickytacky new houses is short sighted. If they take away all the amenities these sites provide like Wellesbourne airfield as well, there will be less or no amenities for all the new housing residents.
Thousands of new houses and nowhere to go for leisure and recreation.
The idea is I guess that they all go shopping as something to do.

Go abroad and block their roads up trying to get to a place that resembles the area they destroyed to build your house....... Makes sense.
