G'day all. I'm in the process of building 2 rover v8 powered vehicles 1st is a 1976 VW bus with 3.9 rover v8 mid engine 4wd. 2nd is a 3.5 rover v8 into a Suzuki frame section. the engine will form part of the frame mount. the transaxle is an auto out of a Alfa Romeo Alfetta with Di Dion suspension & inboard disc assemblies.
need to lose the waterpump in favour of electric unit

the designers must have allowed for SU's

the adaptor made from scrap yard bits

this is the trans type ZF3hp22

Greetings from the Mother country! Looks like you've got your work cut out there! Should be good when finished!

Question: If we say Oz is "Down Under" what do the Aussies say about the UK? "Them Upstairs"?

We don't usually say much about the UK being up there. It's mainly over there. just a quick snippet of my other project

You are going to have BG dribbling all over this when you've got it finished!

Not really FT - I like bike trikes!

Thought the big V engined ones are impressive to look at!

G'day all. I spent an hour today making a template for the rear of the rover block to transfer to the adaptor ring & drilled it to bolt onto the block. I have to have a 12mm thick spacer made up to space the torque convertor out from the crank & have some fixing brackets welded to the torque convertor to bolt it up to the rover flexplate. I will post some pics next week with the auto bolted up along with the rear suspension.

G'day all. this is where I'm up to. I sat the Di Dion tubes under auto to check mounting position I have to cut the bottom of the adaptor ring & make up a plate for the centre bush to bolt to. very simple mod.

Aint you done that yet?

11-01-2016, 07:26 PM
G'day all. come on Friar tuck I get about 1 hour a week to work on this project lol. I sat a standard wheel up to work out the ride height I will have to cut the bottom off the adaptor ring & make a bolt on mounting point for front of the control arm bush to bolt to.

this is the straight LPG carbie setup.

I have been offered a pair of extra wide Alfa rims. I Will have a look at them next week to make sure I can use them on the street.

An hour? blimey over here we would have finished that off with nothing more than a hammer, gaffer tape, couple of cable ties, and a pot of hammerite! Tut!
