View Full Version : Just feel like a rant

I've been perusing Fleabay, as I do on an almost daily basis.

WHY, WHY, WHY !!!!!!!

.......... are plonkers creating "cafe racers" from 125's, usually CG125's
........... are plonkers digging out old hondas that they cant sell and advertising as cafe racer projects? CD175's!!! Not just hondas but things like GSX250's, GP100's!!!!, XS 500's ! ................ any old piece of shit that was stuck in the back of the garage :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Cafe racers were "souped up" versions of standard bike and were meant to be raced on the road, therefore handling would be a good idea, but all the bikes in question handled like a bag of shit then and with very old standard shockers still on will be even worse.

A set of drop bars and a seat hump do not a cafe racer make, same as the twin headlights and renthals do not a street fighter make.

Oh and the amount that have upside photos ........ FFS dont they actually look at the pics when they put the ad up and think, oh it would be a good idea to sell my bike the right way up?

There I feel better now :D

:D Fact!

Hey but if they get the bug, what the hell. Agree about folk taking the piss, selling scrap metal dressed up as 'potential' though.

Really it's just the same as people selling 'old' as 'classic' - and just as nonsensical.

Grrr perfect example ......... :mad::mad::mad:

Didnt even bother with a set of ace bars, just turned them upside down, took the air box, indicators and back mudguard off and a shitty seat that doesn't even fit.

Now this one I like ..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triton-cafe-racer-/111577256366?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item19fa85d1ae mind you the wiring needs tidying and its too expensive

Parts are even worse, like this item 391046677824 on Ebay, though, at least the guy did ask a proper price and didn't describe it as 'A rare part from Winston Churchill's motorcycle that he rode rode on the Dardanelles beaches during the Allied landings'...... :D
