These days of GPS and bike cameras some of us have fitted a cigarette lighter socket to run power to them..

I fitted one under my seat so that I could plug something into it and ran the lead under the tank to the handlebars..

But when the wind and rain have done their worst the socket becomes useless so..I cut the top off a plastic bleach bottle and glued it over the mouth of the socket with Tiger seal PU adhesive, then cut the lock lugs off the lid and it keeps the rain out..cost nothing..

Yeah I know..how do you keep the plug dry when it is not connected..

Use a condom jerk..

Been using one for years under the seat, but the current one has a rubber cover that goes on the top when not in use never had a problem.

Before that I used a 35mm film canister to put the socket in, just cut a hole in the bottom for the wires and some insulating tape, the cap off the canister goes on when its not in use .... sorted
