You can buy a new Indian for that, but with air cooling I don't think it would be as reliable..

I think the old model Valk looks better than the new one.

So what is the flat out speed of your valk, and at top speed what does it do to the gallon, I get about 30mpg from all of my bikes at top speed.

John, I've seen 110 on the clock of mine...not really that kind of bike though. Cruise on the motorway at about 85 comfortably...

You don't buy a Valk for economy...6 cylinders and 6 carbs.....lots of fun though, will be keeping this one a while longer yet...never worked out the mpg, rather not know...If I'm caning it I'll get about 100 miles to a tank which is just over 4 gallon I think...

Apparently they only average about 30mpg on a good day:eek:

I got 107 out of my VN1500 flat out, this dropped to 90 with a strong cross wind and I got 70 miles before reserve on a full tank..slow down and the tank lasted over 100 miles and under sixty I could get another 20..I reckon about 90 to 100 miles per tank on all my bikes, the honda shadows go faster and the Yam R1 leaves them all behind but it's not very comfortable.

The little shadow VT700's remind me of the English bikes I used to ride in the 60's well balanced, does the ton and you can fall asleep on it without it falling over.

Bought the Valk a couple of years ago in a bit of a state....this is how it turned out...

That new one looks like it's just rolled out the Tupperware factory, total bag of shite.
Your current one looks fuckin' mint, i've always fancied one of them to do up same as i do me Harleys, and give it some attitude, rather than looking like summat out of Liberace's bathroom.
The performance sounds dismally disappointing, i wouldn't buy anything that i can't wind straight up to 120, but any big motor can be tuned to fuck surely. And i agree about the economy, fuck it.
Ain't gonna get one anyway, cos i coudn't fly me patch on it, so they'll remain An Object Of Desire to me.

I think you've said this before but is that a unique to Ashfield, I remember taking this back in 05, I think it's a Valkyrie

Yes Shaggy that was Big Chris's, West Coast Hells Angels. They dont have a Harley rule, Ashfield do.

The new one looks like its a large piece of tuppaware, but the styling of the old one looks far better :)

I'd keep the old one if I were you :)

All that dark grey abs plastic, :thumbd: I know chrome won't get you home, but it suits the original Valk.
I have a 96 and a 97 standard (no screen, bags, king n queen, tassles or conchos) and love them. 130 indicated and 25 an hour in petrol when in hooligan mode
