Just had word from the court, after 4 hours of deliberation the jury has found this barsteward guilty:-
Mrs. MD works in the offices of an American Legal Company in Tower 42 (formerly known as the Nat West Tower) in the City of London. Her work hours are 5pm to midnight, and occassionally she is alone in the office.
About 10 months ago a security guard in the building took a shine to her and started leaving notes on her bike in the parking garage under the building. She initially dismissed this as humourous.
There was then a sequence of events that led up to him entering her office one evening and offering her a present, becoming over-amourous, pinning her over her desk and attempting to have sex with her.
He only stopped because he was being called on his 2 way radio.
Fortunately for him (and me), the Police got there before I did.
The upshot is that, this afternoon at the Old Bailey he was found guilty of harassment, sexual assault and attempted rape.
He had naturally denied everything, but she had shown the notes to fellow workers and they had kept them in the safe along with the present. Fingerprint and DNA testing plus a good prosecuting barrister undid his story.
Many thanks to the City of London Police who have been absolutely marvellous and supportive through all this.
A great weight has been lifted off us.
(I had gone on to run the Pissed Indian knowing that this had happened only 2 days before)
That's a nice turn up for the books, I take it she's ok an' that barsteward is gonna be dodging big Tam in the showers for a while.

Depending on where he gets sent, I have contacts.
But, we are satisfied with the finding coz he will get custodial plus his name on the Sex Offenders Register.
Mrs. MD doesn't need any more problems.

Terrific news for you, MD and your family, and thumbs up to you both for being able to crack on when both you and your wife must have been going through hell.
Hope the security guard goes somewhere nice where your friends can welcome him. ;)

Many thanks everyone, we're doing just fine; especially knowing that by whatever means this chap was gonna get justice served on him.
As to the company policy issue, this is an American Legal company with international offices so they all have 24hr coverage, and as an American Co. they march to the beat of a different drum on many matters.
And it was in a "secure" building with each floor having coded access. However, the walking security guards have master keys to everywhere !

At first Mrs MD didn't want anyone to know, she just told me she was leaving work early, but the tone of her voice alerted me, and she eventually told me what had happened.
It then took me half an hour on the phone (whilst manically driving a van load of club members towards London) to pursuade her to call the Police to at least escort her safely from the premesis.
I had to get her to stick a chair under all the door handles so no-one else could get in, and pointed out that it might be dangerous to leave the offices as she may have to pass the offender.
I had to tell her that either she called the Police or we would crash through the building glass doors with the van and take out all the Security Guards until we found the bastard.
Neither she nor the Police would tell her employers what had happened, which was great coz the Plod had secured the offices as a crime scene and wouldn't let even the most senior partner from America across the threshold until lunchtime the following day. Hee Hee.
It was 4 days before she could pluck up the courage to tell her HR manager. Then the company realised they might have a legal problem and have put processes in place since. They could have done better but, she wouldn't tell them anything so they just thought she was off sick at first.
It took 2 weeks before she could face returning to work in the same building.
The other Security guards wanted to have a go at the twat when they found out, and their company has been absolutely fantastic, very appologetic and supportive.
It took some considerable diplomatic and physical skills on the part of several City of London Police officers to prevent either my group or the other guards from getting at the bloke as they arrested him.
The City of London Police, their Detectives and Victim Support plus Prosecuting Barrister and court staff have been incredible and deserve all praise.
He may not be safe in Prison, I have contacts, depending on where he goes.

Mad Dog.
If the ex-security guard happens to be holidaying in the Winson Green or Redditch areas in the near future and you don't have family near there, let me know. ;)
