View Full Version : She deserves it!
My wife Angela, has put up with me for 12 years.
We've been married for ten at the end of this month and although we are very skint, I can't let that anniversary go by without something 'special'
So I've made some plans, soppy, romantic and frankly, sweet!
BUT.......I need somewhere pretty dramatic to take her and knock her up, sorry knock her socks off.
I am looking for a stunning spot, perhaps atop a hill with awesome views and a positively inspirational atmosphere.
Obviously I will have to travel so if it's pretty far, maybe somewhere with a good INN to stop at would be good.
If you can make any suggestions, I'd be grateful - stumped at the mo!

I had Wales down as a sure thing for a picturesque spot or two.
take her camping and suprise her with a new tin mug.
And receive a brand new smack in the chops, still wrapped. No mate, that just wont do!

I know Scotland is really the place but we only have 2 days without the boys and we'd spend most of that getting there and back.
Lakes sounds like a place to start though!

Ladybower resevoir is fantastic, up the A57 from sheffield i think (don't know which direction you're coming from, that's how i got there) it's in the peak district and It's absolutely gorgeous scenery and roads all round that way. There's a place called the Yourksire Bridge Inn nearby that's nice, I think you could stay there. While you're there, you're not too far off matlock (full of bikes on a sunday ;) ) and bakewell which are nice. Then again, it might be a million miles away, I don't know where you live. :)

Mate I know exactly where you are coming from I do the same thing try to find somewhere special to go each year to thank MrsF2B and hte gods for letting us be together but have to do it on a budget of zilch
Why not Tintagel, thats amazing and you can stop off at the Bottleneck Inn
Tintagel pics (http://www.picturesofengland.com/England/Cornwall/Tintagel/pictures5)
The Bottleneckinn is on the edge of Dartmoor so loads of great places there
Lynton and Lynmouth is quite impressive. (http://www.beautiful-devon.co.uk/lynmouth.htm)
East Quantoxhead on the Beach is impressive (http://www.discoveringfossils.co.uk/quantoxhead.htm)
Or one of our special places on the Quantocks (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=316211&Y=138283&scale=25000&width=500&height=310&gride=&gridn=&lang=&db=freegaz)
Take a look at the aerial photo to see whats there
The year before last I booked us one night in the lake district and didnt tell her and we left at 3 in the morning and drove 1000 miles in 48 hours. She loved it and I took one of my favourite photos ever
here it is (http://www.real-easy-cash.com/images/Wedding%20Anniverary%202003%20Lake%20District%2031 07010803%20045.jpg)
Snowdon and the brecons are always good too.
I hope that helps mate and have a special time

One of my earliest memories is of stomping up Pendle Hill. Me Dad was impressed cos I managed to walk all the way up, me mum not so as she had to push the buggy al the way!!
And my great aunt used to live in one of the Pendle Witches houses too :-)
It is beautiful there and geat views.

A BIKE MATE.....thats what I want. A BIKE.
How can I go to a rally in me car, when the only reason that I have to, is that I was stupid enough to take me perfectly good bike to bits.
Fact is Angela would be well for it too. But I refuse to go to a rally in me car!
And now I feel bad for saying I might be able to help you out!
Fecking celebrations......my arse!
