Hi to all guess the drinks are on me, Little introduction i moved jobs afew weeks a go and finally got the excuse (and pay rise) to get myself on a motorbike a childhood dream, i have my direct access booked soon and am now looking towards my next bike after racking up over 2000 miles on my little 125 intruder in about 5 weeks and loving every second (apart from the few i spent on my back after hitting a nice patch of oil) After looking at web sites for different and in bike shops i'm now looking a 2 different bikes the Honda 750 shadow or the suzuki 800 intruder, i love the looks and feel of sitting on them both just wondering if anyone can give me some honest feed back on which one i should go for?

Hi Sun-Tzu. Welcome to the loony bin. Personally it would be the Intruder for me. Make it your own choice and don't let on that you've taken heed of anything that Friar Tuck has told you, as you will be billed for the advice at a later date.

all the intruder range are boringly reliable.
my 1400 one just does everything perfectly.. except get a decent range to its fuel tank.
the 800 intruder will perform as well as the 1400 if the 1400 is in standard trim.
the 800 is water cooled where as the 1400 is not so it was made to run leaner with more restricttive exhausts to keep the noise down for the delicate eared americans.
so yes the 800 intruder it has to be
