oK HERE WE GO I hold class A,B,BE,B1,C,CE,C1E,D1,D1E,F,K,I,N,P, . I also hold a licence to fly planes ,hold a masters cert to drive ships . I have NO problem with people riding trikes if they only have a car licence. In fact welcome them with open arms , its all about . HAVING "FUN " ON TRIKES.Not want licence you have .There of course is that other issue that some people get hung up about. Its not a trike unless its got a motor cycle engine fitted . I dont even want to go there , But if I tell ya I ride a V8 rover trike . That might give you an idea where my head is at.So to conclude ,I love trikes the mader the better . I dont care what licence you have as long as its legal, JUST HAVE LOADS OF FUN ON THEM THERE TRIKES.

Got just about the same as Hightower, car, bike, LGV, PCV, tractor, private hire, hackney carriage. Can't fly a plane and don't have a boat license though. Same thoughts as well, my wife has only passed her test in a car and has always rode my trikes. Future trike riders shouldn't have to worry about passing their bike test.

On the subject of licences, they changed that f'kin silly rule about reliants, or do you now still have to have a car licence to go get your shopping for the month?

I have a full motorcycle licence, been riding bikes for 17yrs only for the last three years of that its been mainly my car based trike, however i dont think it matters what licence people ride them on or if they are car or bike based, we all ride and enjoy it thats what counts and as long as bikers and trikers stick together the powers that be out there will find it difficult to put more restictions on our way of life :D

He reckons people ride trikes cos they haven't got a motorcycle licence. I said it was cos you're all mad as fish. Incidently I have nothing against trikes, I wouldn't want one, but each to his own. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that sweat smell of another convert .Now then Mr SHURDY-------- Trikes are MAD , in fact some say down right insane . But thats why I love them so.For the record I love H/D have lost sleep over that evo engine. Im even big enough to take all the tractor driver cr*p. BUT for a third of the price I get to terify my local neabourhood on my latest machine. I think I need locking up ,this thing has a 3,500cc motor hooked up to a jag back axle with a motor cycle front end. trys to throw you off on the courners . its auto box ,so any numb skull can ride it , its just twist and Goooooooooooooooo. Through out my very chequared life I have driven a lot of crazy things . But this is the best by a very long way, if ya fancy seeing why come and find me and will take yoiu for the ride of your life. dont forget the clean under wear.

Me and Mitch love our motorbikes for morning traffic, we can just zip through all of it but we'd love a trike for rallies and holidays. If we had a trike we could take our big tent, duvet, bigger airbed, chandelier etc etc!!!!!! There is only so much stuff you can get on a motorbike.

I am sorry to hear she has ended up in a chair too (but it aint so bad once you get used to it)
it pays to get a decent chair (rather than what the hospital gives you)
it give you so much more freedom.

I like my trike, just feels damn safer, what with being bigger, there is less chance of slipping into somones blind spot.... no slipping off on a corner with gravel, no adverse camber woes, plus I feel happy riding with no lid.... big bonus for me as I overheat so easily and generally go woosy in high temps.

I also dont trust myself not to do something stooooopid on a bike! I see being too wide to go down lines of traffic and taking unneccesary risks a positive advantage......

Anyways.... thats just my biased uperty-touch point of view :D

I've got a full motorcycle licence - but I'm a recent convert to triking!

My trike used to be my bike, Kwak GT5500. Its a shaftie so was ideal for triking and I love it! I was going to have to part with GerTie cos I have arthritis and she was getting to heavy for me to move about, tho ok when riding. Then last year I was turning round (riding) outside my sisters place, which means on a grassy hillside in Wales - and she came down on top of me - with me on the downhill side! :( broke my legin 3 places, got bits of metal in me, can't ride a bike again yet but after 7 months I'm back on the road with stabilisers and it's manic!

I always said I would get a trike when I got too old to ride a bike, well I'm not too old (never will be!) but a bit too crook atm - but I have to say that peeps who say they would never have a trike have never tried it! The grin factor is amazing, and you don't have to go fast to get the grin either :D tho at an indicated 75 this afternoon she was going lovely and had lots more revs if I wanted them!

lol........................ :D

I aint got a bike test coz I am happy with The Juke.
Rode illegally for years.
You can spend lots of dosh on a bike to make it ya own, but somewhere there will be one just like it, or very similar.
Trikes seem to be more individual, in my opinion. I have tried to make Juke a bit like me, and yes she is just as unreliable. Thats coz she was built be a ***** and as my mother is a total fukwit, that kinda makes us 'the same'.

I dont really care what people ride at all, or even if they don't ride. I take people for what they are. Of course I would prefer to spend my time with the 'biker ilk' but as long as they can walk to the bar, say please and thank you and string two words together, I am happy.

See how easy it is to get to 4000 posts?

erm... got my license off a cornflakes packet...

don't knock Trikes until you've tried it, and if you can, try a V8... Big yank-engined ones will make you laugh in a james bond baddie style with a grin that will reduce the local midgy population by half... :D

Yeah, I liked it, and will build a Jag V12 based one if it kills me

He reckons people ride trikes cos they haven't got a motorcycle licence. ........

What about people (like meself) Who were born with their particular condition and cannot physically ride a bike? I attempted it once by swapping my old VW Beetle trike for a Suzuki GS850 hardtail lowrider chop, but did not have the power in me legs to keep it upright when stopped :( , so it's a trike for me.
Remind yer mate there are lots of different reasons why people ride what they do...not all of them immediately obvious!

I 'ave a license for my minkey!

Is it a manky Minkey?
Passed my car test first time at 17, bike test first time at 18. I still ride bikes but trikes are my weapon of choice. I prefer small, lightweight ones to the big ol' V8s though. 'Tis true what others have said, the grin factor is far greater on 3 wheels & you shouldn't knock it till you trike it! Maddest moment so far- sliding my little green Reliant round & round a greasy roundabout in the rain, the back end sliding out speedway style -just because I could. Soaking wet but giggling like a loony. :D
If I had to choose between bike or trike it'd probably be 3 for me. Mind you, I'm planning a 4 litre Jag powered 50s style hotrod at the moment so that might change!

I love trikes, have had three (two car powered and one bike) but currently back on two wheels. One year without a trike and I do miss it. I only have a bike licence so can't legally ride a V8 or something like that although I have been tempted to pass my car test just so that I can!
