Hey folks...
got a gpz1100, and am considering triking it...Now never having rode a trike, I don't know much about it...
Presumably there would be plenty of power for this,, would still have a decent performance etc.?
Would it be better hardtail or softtail etc?..
Anyone got any idea what it would cost to get done... don't have the time to do it myself... so would have to get someone to do it... any ideas?
As I said just thinking about it for now... but I do fancy a trike!!
attached pic so you can see what it will start as...
thank you... :D

when i started to read this i thought you might have an early unitrak gpz. was going to say forget trike, sell it to me :)
there are pro's and cons to whatever type you build, everyone will have a different opinion, so all i'm doing is giving mine.
i don't like rigid trikes as you tend to get shook about a lot, it's not like riding a rigid bike where the only jolts are up and down. on a rigid trike its side to side also which i find uncomfortable, but upon saying that it is the one that will probably handle the best
i'm not keen on irs rear ends as they can really give you some weird handling probs. which can sometimes be cured or at least lessened by changing tyre pressure/shocks/ rake/trail/antiroll bar.
so if i have to make a choice it would have to be a live axle suspension rear end.
hope you have fun :D

Hi Dracken...
It is an 1980 unitrak model, but certainly not standard any more.....
Any idea what it would cost to trike? :D

Professionally, probably a minimum of £1500. 'My mate Dave'? .... under £500?

You're better off buying one ready built unless you have a really cheap donor to throw in. Besides - it'd be a shame to trike that wouldnt it? And chain drive? eek ....

oh yes i forgot untill minxy pointed it out, chain drive :o .
you either have to offset the diff which always in my opinion looks unbalanced. or pay for a jack shaft set up to be made. which means you have 2 chains to stretch instead of one..
and stretch they will as you have more weight to get turning than on a bike

errr how much you take for gpz ;)
