I'm on nights, went to bed at 10.am, woke up thinking it was evening - nope, it was midday and here I am wide awake.
If I can't get back to sleep tonight I will be doing my impression of something that has been long dead under the patio
What doesn't help, phone call from friend at 13.00 and door bell rings - another friend just now.
Any tips for sleeping that don't involve alcohol welcome (hmmmmm!).

I have not slept for 36 hours, that would tip me over the edge :D I am now drinking mead and apricot wine. I doubt it will work, I'll just end up going to work pissed.

And if you go to Anwyn's Wallbanger rally Middle farm is staggering distance down the road. Cider, Perry and wine tasting is absolutely free - all you can drink!!!
F*ck I'm knackered - tonight will be a horrific massacre and I'll probably get fired! My son has just been on the phon chatting for an hour, is it national ring Mrs R day or sommat.
Should have done rood stuff earlier - too late now :)

Middle Farm's across the road and down by 100 yds from the rally!!
And as for Rood stuff, I did offer... ;) Guys, when you see Mrs R on the forum tomorrow, tell her to go to bed pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze!!!!!
Next time, unplug the feckin' phone!!!!!!!!!!!! Either that or turn on the answerphone! Do folk expect you to come back from a feckin' rally instantly just so you can answer the phone and prattle on for an hour? (god I must be tired!! sorry if this sounds worse babes than it is, I get slightly baity when I'm really tired :o )

Im on nights monday! :( a full week of sh1te and avin t deal with the people most dont want to meet .............ever! ...........and im extremly bolloksed at the minit! :o Erm.......... the ponit being!....................You aint alone! It makes the burden easyer to carry when you think somebody in The PICU is having a worse night than thee! :D For all that dont know ........PICU is the Loony Loony Bin ward! Looner than the Normal Loony wards! :p
After 8 years of 12 hour night shifts I would suggest u use earplugs, make sure curtains are well drawn as light diturbance is just as bad as noise.
Leave a radio playing quietly (Radio 3) as this gives a monotonous steady volume (no offence to any classical fans) which tends to cover any sudden sounds from outside.
And finally unplug the phone and tell your friends that they're dead if they call round whilst you're asleep !

Mrs R got in at 8 this morning, came to bed, had a cup of tea, finally got to sleep about an hour later after a quick glance at the paper.
She survived the night on three cans or Redbull (that stuff rocks!) and an hour or so's kip. I don't know how she does it to be honest.
Well done Mrs R!!!!
It's now half past two - I've just woken up (after getting about 11 hours, the most I've had in ages), thought sh1t, missed the Archers (can't win them all can you?) She's still there thankfully and all's good with the world again :D I did take the liberty of taking the phone off the hook. ;)
