Sorted!
he couldn't ride no more because of a disability,so I don't think he`s posted on here for a long time...
Yes, it was called 'divorse'.....
Lost my internet, when financial chinangins were at there worst. So Off line for two years. As well as bikes, becouse my bludy legs gave out on me due to hysterical paralysis!
But I've got him back to basic trying to get his legs stronger on a 125....
Oh! the Igniniomty of a 'tiddler'... but hey, as Haggis said, "third Class rydin' beats F'st class W'lkin', 'nee'deey"
If anyone remembers, I was, falornly trying to renovate my old VF-Thou....
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w269/teflons-torque/030_014_NPY/1-11-2011_334.jpg
which had been taken off the road, with a little end knock, shortly after I got married. Divorse came along, and I tried fixing it up, its maledies due to my own! But short of funds some one on here flogged me this:-

When a timely tax rebate dropped through the letter box. 18 months later, after much work, making it more MY style... I took it to the petrol station to juice it up for its MOT, and couldn't hold the bugga up!
Bit of a kick in the guts that was! Had to give up on going up to Cardington to get my instructors ticket as planned, as well as event of teh bludy decade, the Centenary TT!
But resorted to doing the 'odd bit here and there' as I felt fit enough, overhauling brakes and suspension, and trying different handlebars and 'stuff', trying NOT to notice that the progress inproving bits, working from teh front, was rather slower than the deterioration due to enviromental degredation, happening at the back! But refusing to 'give up', in the falorn hope that ONE DAY my legs would be sttrong enough to hold it up again.... a hope I HAVEN'T entirely given up on!
Anyhow.... this ere woman....

That's her, in sexy red dress, and sultry take me to bed smile...... turned up, moaning about a Chinese Cruiser Thing she had:-
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w269/teflons-torque/Little%20Dreams/100_0067.jpg
The chain kept falling off, she couldn't find anyone to get a new one from, and admitted to having been on L's for six years...
Which elicited from me the comment "If you cant pass a fucking bike test in six years of riding, give up! you have no fucking business being on on a bike!"
Which brought out the Irish in her.... and she went to war! As they do!
I think I lost. My garden, kitchen, dining table, and living room, look like a battle ground now.... with bits of Honda Super Dream and the entire contents of my tool boxes liberally scattered everywhere, having inflicted herself, and her 'Pup project' on me, in 'War Reperations'!
Anyway, she hated that bike. It wasn't BAD, but she's only diddy, and long riach to high wide bars, erganomics were all wrong for her, and to turn it, eventually discovered she was having to lean off the wrong side to stay with the bars.... which was why it didn't like corners very much!
And she got ME riding it, taking her to look at other bikes she likes the look of better....
this got me thinking..... I could RIDE it! Following thought was I COULD 'ride' the 750... it was just when I STOPPED riding I had problems! But I didn't drop this thing. I could hold it up! Hurt like hell, doing too much of it, but Hey I was RIDING again! and I started having deviouse thoughts, like sticking a VFR400 engine in it and making a 'Mini-Max'!
But, imperative ws to get this woman through her tests. Problems were..... basically excuses, and not having the rioght people around her giving her the right encouragement, or the right bikes. Her ex fiance, who had run off with the wedding planner..... some months before I met her... and had her first date on the day that SHOULD have been her wedding day!?!? Had helped her spend HER money, on bikes HE thought were 'Bargains' and suited HIs idea of asthetics. Hence after starting on a 'sensible' CG125, her Step Dat and a mate helped her find before she met him, after, when that had been stolen, HE helped her buy a TZR with a dodgy power valve, she crashed... then another to replace it, that had blown primary seals and head gasket, that was eventually sold for scrap, becouse he never got round to the 'simple fix' he suggested he could easily do.... without even owning a socket set! And he got her an NS125F, which then got stolen..... and he replaced with a Honda 200 Benley.... telling her that at 17bhp it was 'learner legal' until she checked with the police, who told her no way!
so she banned him from touching, looking or even going NEAR her bikes, and went and found that chinese Cruiser, which a freind sugested would be 'good' for her becouse of the low seat.... nice idea, but plus of low seat, negated by reach to wide bars! Anyway, I sorted that with lower riders and lower, narrower bars... and two days later.... it got nicked!
So we went looking for a 'project' bike for her, becouse, she wanted to learn mechanics, becouse of all the hassle she had had with clapped out old heaps, that often didn't work, or worked badly and vague and unfullfilled promices by others that they'd 'have a look' at them!
I turned up THIS:-
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w269/teflons-torque/030_035_Yamaha_DT/pictur1.jpg
A old air cooled Yamaha DT12/75MX 'mongrel'.
Ticked a lot of boxes as what I thought would make a good 'My First Project' bike for the girl. Simple, air cooled two stroke, only complexity being monoshock rear suspension, so double price spring, but a simple cantilever, so no complex linkage to tackle rebushing.
Went to look at it, and she couldn't even throw her leg over it! Had a 3" jack up kit on it, and she 'hated it'!
I liked it though, and was imedietly taken by the fact that with taht jack up kit, I could sit it and hold it up, with my legs locked! More still, at barely 100Kg, thge thing weighs fuck all, so even if I did drop it, stand some chance of being able to pick it up again! So I bought it, for rather less than new tyres for the 750!
My eldest who in teh time I have been out the saddle, has progressed from teh C50 I fixed up for him for his 16th, through a succession of 125's to his 33bhp licence and a GPZ500S, to an RF900 when his restriction expired, spotted us bringing it home, and followed us onto teh drive and helped unload, imedietly recognising my motives, with rather a large degree of relief! I'd taken his RF round teh block when he first got it... he cought me when I stopped!
Meanwhile, progress to scup up the little yam and put it on the road have been rather intureupted by thes her motorcycling minie the mechanical minx, and her Super Dream restoration!
I have bits os fuperdream ever bludy where!
She treats motor bike bits and tools like nickers, she does! But does NOT confine thier random scattering to the bedroom!
so, I put this together out of the left overs, in an attempt to tidy up a bit!
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w269/teflons-torque/Little%20Dreams/Bike325.jpg
Soon as it was on the road, bludy woman slapped L-plates on the bugga and roared off on it!
Well, I say 'roar'.... you have to apply a little poetic licence here.... its a 125 Super Dream twin!
But hey! Its wheels, with a motor!
And I have to say, I apreciate the electric boot and the lack of mass!
so now we just have to get her Pup bludy finished!
Which I note she has posted in all its gory detail in the show room as The Pup Project (http://www.100-biker.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=44435)
And THEN the woman wants to do some rallies!
Heaven help me!
(But I SUPPOSE I ought to thank her for giving me a shove back in the saddle!)
