My name is Dennis Smith. I live in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. In the 90's I loved AWOL magazine and I still thumb through my old stack looking for trike pictures. The internet is a close 2nd.

The Canadian custom scene is fairly dominated by high buck Harleys. There has been an increasing trend in the last decade towards garage built bikes, which is my thing.

I got an XS1100 with 23,000 kms on it. There are no Reliants in Canada (or if there are, I have never seen one), so my best option for a rear differential is a Chevy s10 pickup which has a gear reatio of 1:3.73. The gearing on the bike was 1:3.33 so with the same size tires (diameter) I should be just about bang on for a bit of a reduction in gearing which won't result in an overly revving engine at highway speed.

I like the more chopper styled trikes rather than the touring style which seems so popular right now. I just want to build something cool and attention getting and then quit my day job and deliver pizza. The cool trike should warrant big tips. I can dream can't I?

Hi Den,

Welcome to the forum,

I've paid for a pint for you at our local pub, just to welcome you to the area.

Also got a nice young sheep lined up because I know Canucks are into that sort of thing..don't worry she's a pretty one..

John.
