I have just done a vehicle check on the first bike i owned, the details it has are below

The enquiry is complete
The vehicle details for VRA 803Y are:

Date of Liability 01 08 1990
Date of First Registration 01 08 1982
Year of Manufacture 1982
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 49CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour BLACK
Vehicle Type Approval
Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate 0.00
12 Months Rate 16.00

Does this mean that the bike is still in about? maybe in somebodys shed in bits since 1990 lol

means not officially scrapped - but until sorn came in a lot of bikes were never officially scrapped even when breakers stripped them

Got us bang to rights there, I used to strip between 4 & 6 bikes a day in a breakers yard, we didn't bother with paperwork or even valid tax discs. We recovered monies quicker if we sold running engines, everything else was a bonus. Came as a shock to my system when I left, buying petrol again !!!

I suppose i can forget the chances of ever being able to trace it then,oh well not to worry.Would have been nice to try and buy it back though with it being my first bike.Anybody know a friendly cop that will run the reg through the system? lmao :D

What bike was it? I couldn't afford to buy my first bike back even if it was still alive, scrap FS1E's are fetching over a grand :eek:

only a few fetch that - i sold an orange m reg one a couple of years ago for 250. It was a runner but i didnt have the time and resources to get it through another MOT (frame pivot point for stand/rear brake had worn oval and all engine bolts being crosshead were made of cheese and seized in) and that was a fair price - the only ones going for more than that have already had things like mudgaurds & seatpans replaced (they are very expensive)

Then the chances of it still being on the road are less than 0 - it is probable at the bottom of a ditch or in a farmers barn having been knicked/crashed/recovered/ turned into a fieldbike and ridden to death
