Hi guys

my names pete and although ive been riding a while im still a relative newbie. Im in the middle of my first complete rebuild of a '49 BSA A7 plunger in a custom style as opposed to full blown chop/bob.

I love the mags and love seeing bikes i could realistically own so figured the forums would be a good place to chat to like minded people and as im only 25 people who can offer advice on the lost arts of whitworth threads and cork gaskets!

It's not cork gaskets it's cereal box gaskets and cork clutch plate inserts.

so male or poof..? I asked because I noticed the ladies bike

Lol funny you should mention that, my dad had a 1936 bsa car and when the clutch went it took forever to collect enough wine bottle corks to make new inserts. Its the only car ive ever known suffer from woodworm too!

That's rough, new cork inserts used to only cost 1/2d each as recently as 1966..

No that was Rizla fag papers.

The silver foil in old fag packets made good fuses, just wrap it round the blown one :D

no he's right, the side of a players fag packet was good in an emergency..it also helped to clean them if they weren't too bad.
