can anyone tell me why ive got 6 bikes in my garage(GSXR7/11-GSXR1100WP-TL1000S-ZX9R-ZXR750-ZXR400) and everyone of em has fucked plugs?

its been very cold here and my garage seems to hold the cold would this be why?

one of the bikes(TL1000S) had a new set of plugs fitted ive done 28 miles on it since and today it wouldnt start i tryed everything i could think of and no go then put in another set of plugs and it started 1st time

now most of the bikes use CR9EKs and they aint cheap so this is pissin me off big time

Doubt if the cold, or cold garage would make such a difference. Military vehicle run in desert and sub-arctic conditions with 30 mileout plug changes. Is it all the bikes or just one of them and what is the condition of the plugs that you pull out. The colour, if it has time to develop is a good clue, as is if the tip is eroded or burnt away. You may have a mixture or too hot/cold a plug for the bike/conditions.
Cant be more specific without knowing more of the symptoms....

my old 550/4 went thru this stage, last year. it turned out to be carberation in the end. I still do carry a spare set of plugs around with me.

You will fing that if you bring the plugs in and stick them close to a rad - leave them overnite they will be alright in the morning.

plugs look clean and a good colour just dont spark
stick in the lead ground it of the head and all you get is an intermitant weak yellow spark

heard someware that cold weather can afect the plug core if the bikes not used often

are the engines spinning over ok, as low temps effect battery output.
plus cdi's/ignitors are'nt keen on the cold for any length of time

worse case scenario a box of 10 cr9e ngk plugs £42.95 plus shipping :(

Just a thought, but do you get a lot of condensation in your garage. Perhaps some carpet on the floor may help to absorb excess moisture. Air out your garage regularley on a sunny day too.

yea it gets a bit damp in there all right

a mate left his GSXR400 in my garage for two weeks and it fucked up as well

also been sugested somewhere else that it could be moisture in the CDIs doing it?

gona go out and seal up all the CDIs with sillicone

(dont have much room to move around in my garage :D)
