Looking at getting a new front axle made up for my GS chop as mine is getting a little tired and needs longer threads, as it's been widened by roughly four inches there's no chance of using another one from a GS.
What grade of steel should I be looking at getting it made from?

Right, rear axle won't suit as the front is bespoke looking at it. 380x16mm and what looks like a UNC thread on it, possibly a harley that's been thinned out a little.
I would use the original however the shaft is showing signs of wear around the bearing surfaces and the thread is a little tired.
Anyone know of a decent engineering company in Southampton'ish or would like to produce a new one for me?
