i've killed the Guzzi....and a beemer.
i was following a truck down a hill & he put his left indicator on; i went out right to look & the beemer was coming up the hill...i pulled back in & mr. truck braked...i braked, the guzzi went down, i slid for some 100yds-i shit you not...all the while cussing Yorkie, his parents, family & never repetaed a cuss word once: i love kevlar :thumbu:
meanwhil the guzzi killed the beemer.
he says i kicked t'guzzi away, i don't know if thats true, this 1 finger typing as i walked away with (now black) fatffingers, tiny elbow grazes & Guzzi in 3 big bits & lots of shrapnel...as you might guess, t'france trip is now not on, i'm to the hospital a.m. & pay for recovery & get my beloved home...
I've got 1 project on the go & wanted to chop the Guzzi...just not just yet while 'sigh' she was shiny n pretty.
refreshment has been taken now & there will be a wake later, if i sound/read emotional, it's cos my nipper cried, my missus came n picked me up & held it all back-she's agreat girl-this is the first big off I've had since bein with her
& me;
I lost my love, i'm ok as only a fat old bouncing old biker is: I've taken refreshment, I'm bleeding on the keyboard & tommorrow I won't be on the Guzzi. but there will be a chop & a tuesday
I'm alive & that counts.
I will be back later with an updat/pics, or it didn't happen-right?
What a shitter. There'll be other times though. Hope yer injuries aren't too painful bud.

Bike home...in 5 bits, the guttering thing: Plod
they were v. good on the night & of course I had no probs with the breathalyser...but they pushed for 'recovery'
'it might get robbed, set on fire, bits stolen sir & as it's on the verge....'
as I had no one handy at the time, I went with this and it = £205 for two (FFFFFFFF) days!
£150 for the recovery; not inc. vat
& £10.00+ per day; not inc. vat
the 'recovery' was 5 miles away.
&
all that for my beloved to be sat in mud....
still, its now home (& pics will follow)
injuries: great purple bruises on elbows, shoulders & left leg, ligaments damaged right hand, fractured thumb with 'floating' bit of bone which =
a fucking incredible result when you see the bike...pics tomorrow.
thanks for your messages: get well etc & esp. the more personal 'I told you fat bikers bounce better' that helps no end that kind of message.
I think of meself as big boned......................had no complaints so far...

I'm sorry to hear about your 'off' but glad you walked away with minor damage..
It doesn't matter how good or experienced you are, if you balance a death trap bloody great engine on two wheels in traffic at high speed, sooner or later you are going to come off..we all do it..
Also on the bright side is that it happened before you crossed the channel.
I'm too old to cross the channel anymore, passport has run out, can't be arsed with customs and security checks, my tourettes plays up with foreigners and officials, but I think if you can get past all of that everyone should try to travel abroad, I don't know if it broadens the mind, but at least it gives you something to argue about.
Get well soon, sit back and reflect on the good things and when the time is right, climb back in the saddle and enjoy the next ride.
John.

the other fork was 30metres away on the other side of the road...I did pick it up
Ambulance man: typical biker, checks the bike, picks up the bits first.
indeed.

Gutted for you mate.
Plus side, you walked away a wee bit bumped and bruised and you did take out a BMW (penis extension!).
And now you have some marvellous donor bits.
Every cloud, mate, every cloud.
