wheres the frame number on gpz900r?

Does anyone know where the frame number on a gpz900 is?

The frame i plan to use is heavily powder coated which is great except i cant see the f*((£J%g number and i dont want to ruin the coat if i can help it.

I thought it was on the neck but all i can see is 'made in japan' and the dvla will probably want more detail than that..

Yes it should be on the headstock, that little piece right at the front but if you can't see any trace of it you might be better off tracing it through the paperwork rather than ruin a great powdercoat.

can be hard to see it past the tank. I usually just give the MOT tester last years ticket for him to copy it off. As an aside fit a piece or hose split longitudinally or boot lid edging strip to the front right corner of the tank. Otherwise it gradually wears through the top rad hose
