at last its finished...lol
a small problem though..anything over 4k revs and it runs fine but under that it just has no power and i find myself having to give it a bit of welly and slipping the clutch...especially from a standing start
im running standard jets, exhausts and pod filters...i thought it may need jetting up ?,but the old one ran ok..
i dont want to keep giving it welly as its only got 60 miles on a complete rebuild...
any ideas?...cheapest first please..lol
cheers guys:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Seriously though, if you want to improve the running of your fine velocipede, you should take a look at Odie's guide to setting up carbs.

If you want to find out if it is the filters giving too easy an air flow try duct tape over them to reduce the amount of air being dragged in , simple job without strippng alot down , had it on an old bandit chop I bought and had to nearly cover the cone filters to get it to run well , jetted up in the end but it quickly proved a point

all sorted now..
seems the old owner was running 92 jets when standard should be 105..
fitted some 110 now and curiously the mixture screws where odd lenghts as well??
all running well now..

Hi Mark,
Glad you got it sorted. Still got the miss on mine on number1 cyl.. Changed lead, plug and cap, checked fuel level. Blown out the carb again today, jets are clear. To my way of thinking, the plug is not wet when removed. so the ignition is working, albeit not a very good spark, but same as all the rest, pointing to carb aggro.. If the plug, spark etc was not working, then the plug would be wet and the ignition suspect. Plug always dry.
Any ideas please,
Greg

is it the same fault on 1 and 4 cylinders,if so could be the coil breaking down under load try swapping the coils over,if the problem moves to 2 and 3 cylinder theres your answer:cool:

could be a number of things..have you drained the float bowl to make sure theres fuel?
have you tried swapping jetts?
as rob said try swapping over coils..
only other thing i can think of is maybe a dodgy valve??

Only on number 1, bike goes well. 1st part of throttle is controlled by pilot jet, which is where the miss is, but will try the coil swap in the week. Thanks
