Where did you first do a 100mph on a bike that you where riding?

Mine was on an exported ZX4 125mph when i was 20 years old on me way to stratford..it was great.. :o

i also still don't believe that speed kills...i think speed is a nice thing that is easily creamed for financial purposes for the government.

Yada yada same old views i know...but that aside...when did you first do it?

For me it was in about 1984 on my Z650, it was my third bike, after an FS1E, a DT175, and a KH250. We used to get on the M5 at Junction 3 at Quinton, blat down to Bromsgrove at Junction 4 and back again to see who could do it the quickest. :D

Being the worlds sh1test bike rider and owning some of the worlds sh1test bikes it was a long while after passing me test before I broke the ton. I think it would have been on a yammy xs750 tripple in about 1991 along the fosse way. These days anything over about 80 and my brain can't cope :o

As a pillion around 1968 on one of the earlieast Suzuki Super Six's and on my own on a triumph Tiger 110, Speedo read 109, which was probably around the ton. Fastest as a pillion 157 on the back of Bab's son's GSXR 750 and the fastest riding 135 on my son's VFR 400 R.....

1981, Santa Pod on a mate's Kawasaki Z1 turbo! It had a nikko baker frame, marzochi forks and shox, crane cams, tuflite/wiseco pistons, big bore kit (can't remember now) campignoli wheels, race fairing from somewhere, and a custom paintjob based on the Close Encounter film. The bike was named "Close encounter of the Turd Kind" And it was! Believe me! I did a standing 1/4 in 12.3 secs which was bloody fast to me in them days!

don't remember when, but it was on a tuned h2 750 triple. i still remember the huge blue cloud that accompanied those triples when you give them some stick.

Same road, about 10 years later. 650 Bonny. Clip-ons, rear-sets. First bike I'd owned that'd pull a ton without actually vaporising itself. Unfortunately it proved me wrong by imploding quite spectacularly soon after.
Moral: never try to keep up with your mates on their flash new Z650s & GS750s on a beat up 15 year old Brit. Mine looked coolest though.

:D iffy is an understatement. i always got the feeling that the 400 500 and 750,

i forget, but i nearly cacked my pants as i was only 14 years old!

I was 14 and it was 1966. I had been left after school with one of my mums friends - she had to go out for some reason and told her 18 year old son to "look after me" he did not know what to say to me or what to do so he suggested a "spin on his bike"........No helmets, just a bike (Triumph) and the A30 from Basingstoke. It was brilliant....I loved it....first time on a bike and he topped the ton. When we got back he said it would probably be best if I did not mention it to either his mum or mine...... :)

Last time Saturday before last (see Shep - Wallingford to Henley road XJR1300)

Have to mention here - M3 between junction 6 and 7 (Basingstoke) at about 97 the vibration is Ohhhhhhh........Ohhhhhh. Soooo Nice......As pillion I can really enjoy it. :D :D

Indicated 102 on north road (retford-donny) with me bro on back. 2 years ago, Yamaha XJ700X Maxim X then nearly 115 on the worksop-nottingham road, got as quick as that and backed the fuck off! the wind (no fairing) at that sorta speed damn near pulled my arms off! Plus it was a standard 1 lane each way type road, not exactly the M1!
