hi peeps,

i have the chance of buying a local bike breakers here in rainy devon..lol
and as a few of you are in the know i was lookin for a bit of advice on the kinda pitfalls i might come across ie new brussell regs n stuff, and where i might find the info.
the deal is basically the guys retiring and he's selling as a going concern, which means building, stock and customer base as well as the name.
its something that im capable of doing but its a big risk and i dont want to walk in blind.
hope someone can give a little advice....
cheers guys....

umm

dunno about regs from Brussels

can help yer wif WEEE and RoHS directives tho which may effect you, tho not directly in the terms of making things risky or owt

mind I think you're dead lucky, I'd love to be able to do something like that

a young lad in newcastle set up a breakers with £1000 enterprise allowance grant, £40 pw to live on off govt so all profit went back into his business, this was a few years ago, now he's got a big shop on westgate road and is very successful

so I won't wish yer luck cos you won't need it.....good on you :)
