One of my favourites was from when I was on the building. We had a set of plans come through for an extension on a big farm house. According to the new plans downstairs was supposed to have a lovely big fireplace at the end of the room. Pertruding the roof of the new wing was a 4ft high, 2ft x 2ft stone chimney as per usual. Wiv me so far? In the new first floor bedroom however, directly above said fireplace and below the chimney stack was a four pane stone mullion window. Soooo how the frick was the smoke gonna get from the fire to the chimney on the roof ???
