Hey Ho

I'm thinking about selling my spare Buell XB9 Engine. I bought it off flea bay to use on my Sunbeam. It was sold to me as a stolen recovered engine and when I got the lump home the engine I saw that numbers don't match. So I'm offering it as spares, however it is in one lump. I only want what I paid for it which was £575.

I've not heard it turn over but as parts it would be worth the cash.

Anyone interested? If not I'll stick it back on EvilBay.

Correct me If Im wrong but as far as I was aware the engine number isnt a big issue .
I bought a bike years back , about 13 years ago to be exact and when I got it hame and the V5 turned up I noticed the engine number didnt match the frame or the V5 , I called DVLA and asked what I should do and they told me that it didnt matter and to just correct it on the V5 and send it in to be altered . I asked the person on the phone "what if its stolen ?" and they replied that "we cannot identify a stolen bike by its engine number, only a chassis number will do" ??? God knows ??

I have also bought engines from well known salvage yards that have had the numbers destroyed before selling , And they have never been a problem when it comes to MOT etc ?!
