is there a box made that turns a chain drive into a shaft drive, if so where can i get one, if not i would not mind having a go at making one at colledge for a project, no more ratio problems make your own, any ideas out there, apart from seeing a shrink,:thumbsu:
XS 750/850/1100 middle gear box is what your after.

you need an industrial bevel gearbox... such as these http://www.drivelines.co.uk/DMS/dynamicdata/docs/20071016153624_2.pdf

Or you could do what I did and use a bike rear bevel drive mounted backwards.
Those industrial boxes are nowhere near strong enough for a bike engine and are relativley large and heavy and run at lowish rpm, compared to a bike output.
Here's one I made earlier.

"College project?"
Build a chain drive diff.
There's one on here somewhere...
Sierra diff in a can, sprocket attached to that, running in a couple of bearings.
Yeah, I remember that, it's is a cracking solution to a perennial problem.

xs11 boxes are 1:1 ratio iirc, i wonder if you could fit it to be driven directly from the output shaft and negate the need to use a chain or belt at all.
