Speedo and tacho mounting

Am using a mini speedo and tacho on my gs550 hardtail and would like to mount them on the top tube between the seat and tank.So they sit nicely between my legs fnar fnar.Is there any legal reason ,mot etc why i cant do this.I would have to glance down to see them but its the only place they look cool cos i dont want to clutter up the bars

My speedo is mounted down on the frame tube, below the tank, and it passed the Mot ok...

Back in the 60's I got pulled because my speedo was mounted in the sidecar (bought wrong cable, too short and too broke to replace it) I could see the speedo clearly except when I turned left. Cop says " your speedo is obscured when you make a left turn", to which i quite sensibly replied "Do you look at your speedo when turning a corner". He took it quite well and told me to get it changed , which I didn't and crossed the road to nick a gaggle of mods going into Brighton....
