Any suggestions for the best place to go for Trike insurance, just got a quote for the wife on a mini trike that was nearly 3 times what she pays for the car !!!

Look in the back of Trike mag.
I use Bikesure as they were cheapest for me.
Good luck :D

no matter where you go trike insurnce is always dearer than the car.
Also most insurers policys for trike insurance seem to be policies from bikesure.

Sadly, trike insurance often seems to be dear - I pay £475 a year for mine (first trike, no transferrable no claims, claim against me, six points) ... :(

Mind you, they wanted £571 for a car ...

Robbin Tossers ! They said that my wifes no claims from the car would be taken into account, she payed £147 per year for a 3 year old 1.8 Laguna and they want £456 for a 1000cc Mini engined Trike !!!

He's 57 and his last accident was in 1972.

Dunno where you live but check out Spire Insurance in Chesterfield Derbyshire.

My first year with no no claims was £ 179 and they let me transfer it to a bike and back to a trike if I want.

They insured my old trike for years and it always cost far less than the Volvo we had at the time, made no sense to me one is reckoned to be the safest car in the world 'tother was designed on a beer mat and built in me shed!

Update ! Tried Whittlesey insurance but number comes up as dissused ! Spire £399 TPFT/£234 TPO, Swinton £467TPFT, Bikesure £230 TPFT?£304 Fully comp with loads of extras including break down cover with relay and home start, legal cover etc with either. Looks like bikesure have got a new customer, still mad money though considering the fact that I only pay £127 per year fully comp for my 2 year old Harley Streetbob !!!

I ended up paying £268 fully comp with the wife as a named rider, passengers and trailer, I know it's only a mini engine but I don't think that was too bad after looking at what some people are paying !
