Oh the joys of winter camping - not!!!! Just got back from the Snowplough which was a sterling winter rally in itself, great music and company etc. However, woke up this morning with bad hangover, still wearing all the clothes we had on yesterday. Everything in and out of the tent was bone searingly damp including sleeping bags etc. It had been raining too so the field was a quagmire and our friends Deeko and Tiz snored like groundhogs all night.
I am not sure whether I want to do any more winter rallies, maybe if it actually snowed it might be fun - maybe I am just a southern jessie :D

Snow at a rally is fun up to a point.Trudging around freezing yer bits off cos you can't get into the the pub as it's too small gets old very quickly.I was at a rally in Amulree north of Crieff (the Sno Far,i think) and we got snowed in by about 2pm on the Saturday, ploughs didn't get through 'til lunchtime Sunday.By that time everyones' batteries had pretty much died from the cold, and the road was far too slippery to bump start.Let's hear it for kickstarts!2 or 3 minutes of frenzied kicking and the GS reluctantly fired up,so off I rode (very gingerly) leaving a whole bunch of folk queueing up to use the pub phone to call the AA.No mobiles in them days!

Absobloodylooty love 'em (well here in the south anyways). Check out ours Mrs R. I know it's the same w/e as Jo's party - come Friday only Tiz reckons he may well do it an' drag Deeko along at the same time.
My first ever rally was a winter one an' probably the best way to start. See pic below.
That field at the Snowplough was a bit moist tho.

I do remember it bein' bloody cold.
Adopts Monty Python Four Yorkshiremen sketch character voice :
It were that cold we actually went out an' bought quite a few broadsheet newspapers to roll up into balls to fill our sleepin' bags with more insulation hopin' it would keep us warmer. To aleviate the uncomfortableness of all this we downed large amounts of ale. I'm sure it all balanced out in the end the insulation against the hypothermic qualities of alcohol ......
...... It did! We were bloody cold :D
