Good innit? :) I hated OS 9, but X is brilliant.

It's not half bad Blue!

I know what you mean about OS 9, but at least that was better than 7.5 (old Mac Fart alert – been using them since 87, even came for a job at your place once, when you were at Islington. Didn't get it sadly but there you go).
At least this gets me away from using that excuse for a web browser Internet Explorer too!

Norton Windows Doctor normally keeps it ticking over quite nicely. Also customising the start up on msconfig helps.

Me feckin' Mac laptop's still like that ( bought it off Ebay for £50 and since took it to the max! yeah, the one that Mrs R does all her work on – btw, open season again from Monday chaps, another essay :D :D :D).

It hasn't got a CD drive - though what it has got is an ethernet card so I can just put get the files off the internet and transfer them down the wire from my souped-up G3

Or of course you could go a back a bit further to Windows 3.0 and load the 15 or so discs then, or even further back to when I was using Dbase3 on 5 and 1/4 discs!!!!

Or back to the time when dinosaurs were around and 8" discs, we had a machine that originally cost over £5000 and ended up being used to copy the Eproms and thats all it was good for

I had an original IBM PC, built in green screen, single 5 1/4 drive, no hard drive, size of a large suitcase, used an early version of wordstar, even had the original reciept for it, around £2000 if I remember rightly. This is the one that all computers are based on regarding speed, i.e they are 500% faster etc

CD drives, whats them then????? :D

So I've heard :D Nah it would have been a blast!

yes, me and Stu didn't seem to get on well at the interview for some reason. OK, it was my first Mac job after getting my Btec in Graphic Design ('99 probably – was 27), didn't have a bike on the road at the time and I may have come across as a bit of a smartarse!! (Mrs R says 'no way' at this point :p ) – Oh yeah, and I mentioned something about AWoL and an old pic of him in BSH :D (after that I already knew I didn't have a hope in hell of getting the job – obviously)

First real computer was the Amstrad 464, sat up all night writing a programe in basic for the kids to use on Christmas day. Thought it was cool, green screen and all. Went on to windows 3.1, which I really liked, the more they improve windows, the worse it gets. now run XP professional on all my 'puters (have three) and this one is the sacrificial lamb, being the oldest, slowest and with two hard drives still the smallest storage.
Looked at Macs and fainted at the price and lack of intresting programmes......(my intrests that is....)
