Wife's eldest lad has got an old H100 2 stroke runabout and it has suddenly started to struggle and appears to be flooding.

Float bowl isn't sticking and seeing as i'm not an expert on carbs would appreciate some ideas as to why this is happening.

The bike picks up again when the fuel is turned off (until it runs out of course)

Cheers:D

Sounds to me like the float height needs adjusting , had it on one of my bikes not so long ago . Bowl is getting too much fuel and flooding so Id guess when carb is upside down the floats need to be higher to lower fuel level in the carb . Try and find out what Honda say the floats should be set at and check them . Good luck with it .

Clean the float bowl out too. It only takes a small bit of cack to stick the float valve open.

choke sticking on? chokes on these small bikes tends to be the type that adds extra fuel, rather than the type that restricts the air.

the float may not be sticking but it can leak. But is thats the case it will drip fuel all the time the fuel is on.

Check the choke operation
Check the air bleed valve
check the main jet

How is the 2stroke oil mixed? too much or too little oil cam make the engine seem to run ritch
