I'm planning on going, just a bit wary of how North Wales plod are going to react.
Are they going to be rubbing their trotters together with glee & issuing fixed penalties for every loud exhaust & small number plate ???
I expect the plod will allow all those taking part to gather together and then either stop them from starting the ride, or pull the whole lot en masse whilst they check details of each and every one of those taking part. They will take their time.......
I have been on the receiving end of North Wales plods legendary hospitality and I am never ever going back.
Fuck em.

I was thinking of riding up with a few friends and maybe not going to the rendezvous points just riding around North Wales.
I'm not saying you shouldn't, but just be aware of what they are capable of and make sure your bike is legal in every way. Carry your licence with you and FFS dont forget to make sure it is taxed and the disc is on the bike. They have been known to seize vehicles on the flimsiest of excuses so don't give them any.
And above all else, enjoy the ride.

You get about 300 to 400 bikes on sundays at the Oasis cafe at Abergavenny bus station, never much of a police presence, never any trouble, bikes come in and out all day long, usually about 200 to 300 parked up, the rest are coming and going.
They sell my book there too.

The rideout will be full of crotch rockets with race cans, small plates and black visors. That will really make plods day.
When are these Moto GP wannabe's going to wake up and realise that they are the only ones being stopped, and they wonder why.
The roads round snowdon are magnificent, I was up there a month ago and never saw a plod never mind get pulled, but then again, I didn't ride like a tw@t or follow the same "race route" as all the others.
We have the same problem round Brecon, I was out Sunday on the 470 between Merthyr and Brecon riding through a section that goes down to 30 because of houses and a care home, I was overtook by 3 fuckwits doing at least 80. These are the tw@ts that are causing the problems and they want us to support them.
Riders need to stop whinging when they get a fixed penalty fine for an illegal exhaust, simple answer is keep the original or get the bike tuned another way, same goes for plates, small ones don't make your bike faster.
There's enough people, even on here, who kick off about car drivers who break the law, yet think it's ok to do it because they are a "biker".

Yea but John those are mainly the tossers using the Builth Llandovery back to Abbergavenny race route. Well bar for the odd groups of cruisers. And the odd Outlaw but its the crotch rockets causing the grief as Dusty says, mainly on the well used circuits, that's why when I go out for a ride I normally head over the border to England, far fewer there than in Wales on a weekend, less plod because of it too.

So who's going tomorrow?
I will put a few miles on the scoot in North Wales. Was thinking of trying the Ponderosa Cafe meeting point.

Plenty of bikes out today when I was headed back from work, strange never see as many when it's wet:rolleyes: However there seems to be a resurgence in bikers nodding back or giving a wave, for ages it seemed they just ignored other bikers. The ones heading thru my regular stomping patch today seem to know bout nodding etc. Early summer I fried my engine, hundeds of bikes went past not one stopped, I recon today I'd have had a few stop if the bike had packed up.

Just got back. Horse shoe pass was gridlocked with bikes. No sign of the Police in Wales but on our side of the border on the A5 there were two mobile vans (one on a bridge) about a mile apart. and a couple of bikes. Looks like they were trying to cash in on the event...
There was a bike down westbound on the A5 (A483 junction) looked like it was clipped by an Golf going eastbound (judging by the damage on the front offside wing on the golf). There was an amblance and police there. I hope the guy was OK.

we popped along to give our support as did a great many others riding alsorts of bikes. The police were conspicous by their absence to say the least.I think we made the welsh television as a helicopter was floating about filming the massive grid lock .Ithink we made our point:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:
