It went down hill after they tried to sue me and the wife I was very very ill and took the money they offered me after I paied peps I ended up with 400 quid. I then left me job after 12 years now work round the corner of choprock in a courior company for a lot less dosh. The wife is now being blamed for the accedent but shes a lot more stronger than me and told them shell see erm in court. Oh and this will make you larf the police solicitors got 100% biker mag and have tried to the story against me by saying I was not looking where I was going. Thankfully my insurance company told them that its a story that had not been signed dated and had outside partys writing it.

got nothing against me so there cluching straws. Wife called her solicitors today and they told her they are taking them to court as its gone over 3 years and they still aint settled with her. She may only get 15 grand.

On the bright side and the bit that keeps me sane the new job is great. Got a little boy now (only a week old) called Reegan Elvis (Reegan means little king) Trike is getting pimped this weekend and I am hoping to get a tattoo parlour soon witch I will do discounts on any 100% biker worker or read (I'll sort summthing out with you pat)

posting pis of kid and for the first time pics of the accident

Missed you guys

Hope the Mrs gets more than £15,000. Don't take any notice of the bit that says they are not going to ask for more than £15,000, ine says that and the third party insurers have 'Paid into court' £12,000 which means they are prepared to settle for that and if I want to disagree i could be liable for the costs from that date.
My solicitor says that if I go for a psychological report, we could push them for at least £18,000. However, I didn't want to take that risk, so we are trying the old fashioned haggleing technique and will see what happens.
It is a long hard fight and I know you have had your fair share of trouble with this one. What helped was my solicitors sending me to an orthopedic surgeon for evaluation. He says I have extensive nerve damage to my right leg and the only sensation is pain, also he says I have Post traumatic Stress Disorder.
I told them that I am scared of being made redundant and that actually added £2,000 to my claim (agreed to by the third party). Tell the Mrs to use every trick in the book to make these f*ckers pay what's due.

Good luck and Good Hunting.......

Hi m8, just to let you know how things are going. I told my solicitors that I would settle for anything over £13, 500 as I've had enough and want to move on. Keep having to rake over the memories etc does not help the PTSD at all. However I recieved a letter yesterday offering £15,000 and I am going to take it. I always though £14,000 would be around the right mark, so I am a grand up.

If your wife is having flashbacks and nightmares, sudden and dramatic mood swings (other than those that are hormone driven, no offence meant here, but I'm sure you ladies understand what I mean) then the chances are that she has some form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Don't go to the doctor, tell your solicitors and keep the flow of information up at all times. Every way that it affects either of you, tell them. Obviously your sex life was affected at the beginning (having read what injuries you both recieved) and possibly your relationship was affected, if only temporarily. Does she have any scars that make her self-conscious or disabilities, even if they are only minor. Did she work before the accident and can she go back to it when she is well.

If you need any help or advice (I'm no expert, so can only speak from my experience) PM me here. may not be able to reply same day though.

To put things into perspective, their original offer was £1,750, which they increased to £7,500. We told them in legal speak that they were taking the piss. They raised it again to £10,000 and again we refused, so they demanded a report from an orthopeadic surgeon (at their expense) expecting that they would discover I was faking it. The report states amongst other things that I have extensive nerve damage to the left leg and knee area and can only feel pain at any time which adds to the PTSD already suffered. They then paid £12,000 into court, hoping we would settle as I was now at risk for costs from that point. I rejected that offer on the solicitors advice and have now accepted their offer as above.

Babs took their first offer of £750, need I say more.....

took me 8 years to get my compo
i travelled the length and width of the country seeing doctors
as for PTSD well there is a proper treatrment available unfortunatly it costs around 6k but i am a testament toi it that it works and would highly recommend it to anyone it is based at ticehurst house in east sussex (part of the priory hospital group)
if you can get the other side to pay for it then it would be a bonus
they are the same people who treated terry waite after his kidnappin/hostage thing
my fist offer was 20k (about 5years after accident)
2nd was 40k about 6 years after accident
i finally settled at 141k 8 years after (out of court)

if anyone needs any help/advice/talk then either pm or email me i will be happy to help wherever i can

Thanks for that Yoda, as you are aware, peeps in the position we have found ourselves in need help and support. As brothers and Sisters in the biking fraternity, if we are not here for each other, then we are nowhere. When a biker is downed, unless he has friends to help and support him he can easily get lost. If it wasn't for you guys on here, I would have very little contact with the biker lifestyle and I am extremely grateful. Hoping to get the trike running again this year and be back to rallying and riding for FUN!!!
