anyone had a similar prob with one of these, if so what cured it.

when it first came in it was backfiring through the exhaust and inlet. would only rev to about 4k and then would surge.

what we have found and fixed so far.

valve clearances fine.
comp 175 psi on both cylinders
rear carb diaphram had seperated from the slide. rear slide needle had been reasembled incorrectly which left the rear needle 2 mill higher than the front one.
checked resistance on crank sensor 202 ohms so that ok.

it does not pop and bang quite so much now. but the surging is still there

today going to run the thing on a remote fuel tank incase fuel delivery is not high enough.
and check if the crank rotar is tight.

but anything else. then please tell me...:D

check the charging system especially the reg/rec

Seeing as it's a girls bike it could be anything from lack of lipstick to not being able to decide what shoes to wear........ :D

Check the Alternator and Reg/Rec unit as Creature has suggested....

not sure on these but "backfiring through the exhaust and inlet would point to incorrect valve timing or burnt valve seats? mebbe.or incorrect cdi box hence incorrect ignition timing.
mebbe....

Check the fuel tap, try running it on 'prime' and see if it still does it.
