Sorry.UNITA was one of the paramilitary organisations in Angola after the Portuguese bugged out in the seventies.
They were up against The MPLA and FRELIMO who were supplied by the Soviets and had Cuban "advisors".(Read Mercenaries)
Some serious atrocities were carried out by all sides,hence my refusal to get involved.Like FT said,the money was amazing but the chances of not collecting were pretty high! :eek:

I believe the 'Advisors' were supposed to train local troops and when they got there, they were told they were going up the 'sharp end'. When some of the guys refused, stating what was in their contract, they were shot by their own side.
The rest is history as they say and those that survived the fighting were put up against the wall by the other side. Not sure if any escaped or not, was a long time ago now.
