OK, I've been stupid enough to get a DR10 and had a years ban! So been back on road for 4 months now, Both my daily drive cars, i've insured for less money then before the ban!!
So rebuilt my 1973 Honda SOHC CB750 Hardtail Chop over the boring months and got the baby up and running again at weekend. So rung around for quotes today, I had it insured with Adrain Flux last time, fully comp just over £100, i don't do a 1000 miles on it a year!!
So this year they wanted £285:eek: so rung Nash and they wanted £1000+:eek:
I expected it to go up but not that much!
I don't wanna give up on it, moneys tight and got a 3 wk old boy now so moneys a bit tight.
So anyone got some advice or know who to ring and try:confused:????

Cheers Rich

That DR10 will haunt you for ten years.

Try to get it insured in your wifes name with you as the second rider. Just an idea that might slip through with the odd firm.

I wouldn't.
If he has had quotes he is logged into a system that does share info.
If he is unlucky and has an accident he could end up in deep shit for not declaring it.

How deep? You could have your insurance cover withdrawn and then be done for not having insurance as well as insurance fraud on top of any claims made against you. You could, in theory, lose everything you own.

Yep,i was tempted to just go for classic insurance for my bike, not declare the mods.
But i had quotes after listing all the mods and a club member who is a insurance assessor put me to the wise.
Companies do check, often just in case and will pull the cover and inform the police.
Just not worth it
