170 litres of wine?! Is that how the cottage looks now? I barely recognise it. Oh - and pool sounds marvellous! One day I'll make it over again.

Minxy!!! Hiya mate... Hope you are well, email me sometime and we'll catch up.... you know you are welcome anytime...
That wine tally is out of date, try reading the blog, we made 400litres this last year.... and 'he' plans to make a couple hundred litres of Port next time... at this rate he'll drown in the stuff...

Hiya Pat. Hope you doing ok. The place looks really nice. I hope this aint a daft question but my geography is not too good. I plan to do Faro again next year with some guys from Kent - is your place enroute?. It would make a great stopover.
Best wishes.
cheers.kenn

Hi Kennp
Hmmmm it would depend really on what route you take, if like most you stay in Spain for most of the drive down, then no it isnt... if you look up Coimbra on the map, we are inland about 40 km from there... or look up Serta we are not far from there too...
Portugal is a stunning country, sadly most folk stay in Spain which is full of ... Spaniards.. yuk

A bit hit n miss... the credit crunch or whatever they are calling it this month has hit over here too, folk cannot afford the hols like they did, I think we are doing better than a lot of others as we are cheaper and have the pool...
We manage, most of the time... wouldnt change it though... still love it!!:thumbsu:

Pat ......... Sadly most folks going Faro do the dash down the Spanish side of the border following the same salamanca, Zafra/merida, Huelva route and only take an alternative route (time permitting) on the way back home

Kenn.... Just an idea for the Faro route, and be able to stop at Pat`s place, is to consider doing the Chaves rally location HERE (http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=charves&countryCode=PT#map=41.74472,-7.47197|14|4&bd=useful_information&loc=PT:41.74139:-7.47197:14|charves|Chaves, Santa Maria Maior, 5400) in the north of Portugal the weekend after faro, and stop off at Pat`s en-route mid-week between rallies and chill out. However you would need a little more holiday time to do it all in

Thanks for that -may be a possibility - but the Chaves rally is not one I know to be honest - is there a website I can look at for it?.cheers.kenn

Tbh I dunno about a website as the club name eludes me atm, maybe Pat could help or try google.
its a reasonably sized rally held in the town of Chaves, several of the brits who I meet down at faro usually head there after Faro

If time isn`t an issue, you could also consider doing the Sestao bike show near Bilbao in Spain's Basque country on the way down to faro

Although there isnt as many rallies here as UK , during summer (may to Oct,) there is generally at least one rally per weekend...
Im at an espaçe at the moment so cannot look up any but Rik has a book we use that gives general info..
Kennp . you wont find many that have websites here mate...
please note.... we dont have camping.... unless its in my garden and pee in the field....your welcome though , we'd work something out...:thumbsu:
