 I'm stuck in my Garage, still trying to fix up my 88 Kwaka VN. In the Last 4 days, I've fitted some swept back bars, rigid struts,Mini Indicators, ZZR front Forks 'n' Guard. Today, I'm filling sum holes in the Rear guard,Spraying it and re-fitting it & Cutting some Mesh (What the boy Racers put in Grills of there cars) to fit the radiator Cover 'n' Cutting the old plastic middle out. Should look ok? Still havn't fixed the electrical problem(Thought i had?) Blows main 30a fuse as soon as its put in. So as its sat doing F%ck @ll, Thought I'de tart it up. If I can ever get it going, I'll give Yorkie a visit at the Cobrac mcc (Hopefuly b4 summer starts) Anyway thats my day.

aw that sounds like a good day, I wish I was doing that instead of being stuck at a desk doing 'computer' engineering. I only had one flame test this week, and my filter tests are all done, so it's back to boring paperwork writing the report

so this electrical problem, something is drawing too much current, could be a dodgy connection (something earthing out? maybe touching the frame?) or a broken down component, but to blow a 30A fuse means it's on the power side I'd say, rather than lights or horn...have you checked the terminals to the starter/ignition circuit?

anyway, hopes you get it fixed :)

Checked wiring (Stripped n re-covered) Connections,Earths, etc. But i'm no electrician and i've got as much chance of fixing this by my self as I have at getting back into a 32" waist.

If it blows as soon as you put it in (no current drawn) could it be a short circuit somewhere? Something like a chaffed wire or wrong connection allowing power into an area where it shouldn't go to.

yeah it sounds like a full short circuit there somewhere :D

Just popped over to the workshop and realised we've been through all this before, Doh!
Did you continue to check all the wiring after you found the split wire@ chances are there may be some more or a component (do bikes still have rectifiers?) or similar is failing and allowing full current through. My trike has no fuses whatsoever and when the voltage regulator went down, it just boiled the battery to death. A fuse would probably have prevented it. Other than fully rechecking the whole loom, I don't know what to suggest.....

Could try prayers to your own God/Gods......
