View Full Version : Chop builder ' MUNK ' ??

Recently got hold of a well built GS750 Hardtail chop , found it has MUNK 76 stamped into the headstock above the standard GS VIN . Anyone heard of or know a chop builder who would have printed this into a frame they had built ?

yes, he was from southampton, about 20 years ago was the last time i heard of him.
he made quite a few frames, including the first ever time the word "streetfighter" was used in a bike mag.
Owned by Fester and had an XS1100 engine with duplex chain drive conversion and a pair of weber DCOE 40 carbs strapped to the back.

That sounds good , the bike was in Salisbury when I got it and seems to have been in that area from at least 1994 with only 2 owners since then . Ill have to do some digging to see what more I can find out . Cheers odie

Cheers TektroG , had thought about asking Twizzle . Tried to join Britchopper awhile ago but didnt get the registration email so just emailed desperate to see if it can be sorted . Be good to find out some more about the bike or builder.

Just finished painting the frame satin black , got the motor back in and wheels on . Should be finished in a week or so . :cool:

Has it ?? Didnt see that when I was rubbing it down :eek:

Im a big fan of the oil cooled gixxer and bandit lumps but this looks great with the gs motor and besides it sounds and runs perfect , and Im using the only gixxer lump I have at the moment in me chop project :cool:
