Hmm, bmw r80 rt (1979) with soft luggage, in bits at the moment but when dismantled was an on the botton starter with no smoke, has brand new cluch and re'coned gearbox. Engine not touched as it was fine, spoked wheels not bmw's ugly cast thingyies? or my dr125 project plus cash your way:rolleyes:
cb550/4 k3 in bits but can be as complete as you want. Option of a sidecar project to go on side of the bm or the cb.

A guy I know has a basket case XJ600 in York if you are interested.

Here is what he says about it

Ok it's a 98 Yamaha XJ600N (nekkid one)

I need to sell because I need to move house and monies is tighter than than a tight thing.

It has no MOT or tax and will need a few things before it will pass an MOT, these be listed below.

Front brake will need cleaning and bleeding, it has new pads
Back brake bracket needs replacing (£20ish from a breaker)
Speedo cable (£10)
Chain (£50)

The rear tyre is quite new (done about 1000 miles since purchased) and the front will last until the rear dies. The front brake is binding at the minute which is why I say it needs cleaning up.

I've had the bike for about a year and its been very reliable, apart from when the chain snapped but that was my fault. I've been completely honest with the description, if I could afford to keep it I would!

Say, £300?

I'm based just outside Selby (near York), viewing welcome and you will need to collect it.

PM me n ting or email shaun_gsxr AT hotmail.com

Pics below

There is also a Super tenere XTZ750 in Darwen for £400.

Reg plates are only valueable to people who want to sell them.
Dont make a bike worth more.
jcb: pop the NTV on the NTV forum, peeps on there always looking for more NTV's, you can never have enough of them!:D

thanks m8,will try that if nowt comes from here or the cash offers, not letting it go for rustbucket money, tis a good bike and much better than a lot of other cheapend bikes out there.i mite even put 12mths mot on her i think.

leon tis ur old bike but with a lot of changes n tidying up is all,n copperslip on everything that should move/pivot etc.rerouting/reconnecting wiring etc.
i mite get as far as fitting the full fairing for it as well, see how time goes.tho really need a dentless tank first.

jcb
08-03-2009, 03:03 PM
lol,yes just like a fungus, heh, after everyone telling me how boring these bikes were n all, seems to me they only boring if u ride boring,i had it right over at same speeds as other bikes on the bumpy b roads and it was great fun tho ithink fitting the traily bars has encouraged that, ive inadvertantly wheelied whilst fukking up a gearchange so thats sort of possible :o
obviously needs a bit of adding to,mebbe better brakes for a start ;)
and also it needs to lose some wieght but mr grinder is nearby so...

I have crosser bars and brush guards fitted to mine, makes it think its right hooligan machine!
Apparently CBR600 front end's fit straight in, brakes are fine on mine, fitted a span adjustable front brake lever from an early VFR, goes straight in where the old lever should be, also fitted braided hoses front and back.
Brakes are a lot better now!
